Stern Debuts New TRON:Legacy Pin Game

Stern Pinball Tron Legacy Game

In collaboration with Disney Consumer Products, Stern Pinball is now shipping its newest pinball game, inspired by Walt Disney Picture’s TRON: Legacy.

The TRON: Legacy pinball features a 3D backglass that brings the film’s characters and story to life. TRON: Legacy also features exciting sound bites from the film’s main characters, as well music from the film’s original score.

In the TRON: Legacy flipper, players battle as Sam Flynn on the Grid against Clu and Rinsler. Players will enjoy multi-ball rounds themed around scenes from the film; ride the two ramps for Light Cycle battles on different levels of the Grid; defeat the motorized Recognizer target bank to expose Rinsler’s spinning Identity Disc; or fire the ball from Rinsler’s Disc to simulate a Disc War. There are numerous play features for characters in the film, including Kevin Flynn, Gem, Zuse, Quorra and Clu. Play all features to escape the Grid through the Portal.

John Borg is the playfield designer. He is working side-by-side with the design and engineering team at Stern Pinball. Pinball Hall of Fame artist John Youssi designed the art package, and David Thiel engineered the sound.

Gary Stern, founder, CEO and chairman of Stern, said: “We loved working with Disney on this great title. TRON: Legacy pinball will be a great game for TRON: Legacy and pinball game fans alike.”

Stern Tron Legacy Playfield

TRON pinball puts the players in the middle of TRON movie and video
game action battles. This is a fast moving game. TRON has 3
flippers, including an upper flipper to shot one of the two fabulous fast
action ramps. We have not utilized a 3rd flipper in a while, and players
will enjoy it. In the center of the playfield, near the top, there is a
motorized 3 bank target assembly the player must hit and lower, to
gain access to the illuminated, motorized spinning disc, representing
TRON’s Identity Disc. The spinning disc shoots the ball randomly across
and around the playfield. Ramp shots take the player to an exciting
Light Cycle multiball. The player shoots at the miniature TRON video game
to start exciting features and collect big points.

TRON: Legacy is a visually exquisite 3D movie, and our pinball has
captured the same exquisite visual, including its 3D backglass.
Music is from movie and perfect for pinball.

About TRON: Legacy
TRON: Legacy is a 3D high-tech adventure set in a digital world that’s unlike anything even captured on the big screen. Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), a rebellious 27-year-old, is haunted by the mysterious disappearance of his father Kevin Flynn (Oscar®- and Golden Globe®-winner Jeff Bridges), a man once known as the world’s leading video-game developer. When Sam investigates a strange signal sent from the old Flynn’s Arcade-a signal that could only come from his father-he finds himself pulled into a digital world where Kevin has been trapped for 20 years. With the help of the fearless warrior Quorra (Olivia Wilde), father and son embark on a life-or-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe-a universe created by Kevin himself that has become far more advanced with never-before-imagined vehicles, weapons, landscapes and a ruthless villain who will stop at nothing to prevent their escape. TRON: Legacy is directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Sean Bailey, Jeffrey Silver and Steven Lisberger. The story is by Eddy Kitsis & Adam Horowitz and Brian Klugman & Lee Sternthal, and the screenplay is by Eddy Kitsis & Adam Horowitz, based on characters created by Steven Lisberger and Bonnie MacBird.
